Hayek RTX

The Hayek RTX Ventilator provides an efficient and effective method of non-invasive external ventilation and can be a real alternative to traditional forms of ventilation. The Hayek RTX actively controls the inspiratory and expiratory phases of respiration (using BCV), making the device work physiologically and successfully.

Compact and lightweight, the Hayek RTX Ventilator is ideally suited for use in both acute and chronic, intubated or non-intubated patients.

Using the various trigger modes, the Hayek RTX Ventilator may be synchronised to the patient’s own respiratory or cardiac cycles.

The Hayek RTX is a user-friendly, fully computerised device, which has eleven sizes of cuirass enabling treatment of both adult and paediatric patients.

Features and Benefits

The Hayek RTX Ventilators in many cases offers a REAL non-invasive alternative to Positive Pressure Ventilation (PPV) as it can provide complete ventilation, unlike other non-invasive ventilators:

  • The only ventilator that automatically expels secretions, clearing the lungs.
  • The only ventilator that is fully physiological, increasing the patient’s cardiac output.
  • Treatment can be administered either in hospital or the home.
  • Improved patient care: The Hayek RTX has been shown to reduce mortality rates, increase patient comfort, and avoid many harmful side-effects associated with existing respiratory techniques.
  • Significant Cost-savings: Unique operating method reduces hospitalization rates, time in ICU. Ease-of-use reduces dependency on highly specialized staff.

Patient Groups

BCV has been successfully used on patients with:

  • Acute Ventilatory Failure
  • Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
  • Neuromuscular (e.g. SMA, Duchennes etc)
  • Head and Spinal Injuries
  • Problems with Weaning from PPV
  • Ventilation during anaesthesia in Ear Nose and Throat (ENT) Procedures
  • Cystic Fibrosis (CF), and those who require physiotherapy
  • Aids Related Lung Disease
  • Asthma
  • Ventilation post-operation Eg. post-coronary bypass, Fontan, Fallot, post-pneumonectomy
